Image Converter

Drop one image or a whole folder, pick the format, convert. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, BMP, SVG and ICO and writes JPG, PNG, WebP and ICO. Before it starts it tells you what each file really is and what the new format cannot keep. Nothing is uploaded: the work happens in your browser, so there is no queue, no account and no size cap of ours.

1. Add images

or drop files or folders here, or paste JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, BMP, SVG, ICO · as many as you like

    2. Output

Optional actions (run in this order: crop, rotate, resize, canvas)
    File names

    Tokens: {name} original name · {n} number ({n:3} zero-padded) · {w} {h} pixels · {date} photo date · the extension is added for you. Example:

Camera details, the date taken and location data are kept when the new format can hold them (JPG, PNG, WebP), exactly as the original had them. Want to see or remove it? Remove EXIF and metadata shows everything a photo carries and strips it losslessly.

    3. Before converting

Add images to see what will happen to each one.

      About this converter

What it reads and writes. In: JPG (including JFIF), PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG in every browser; HEIC and HEIF in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac; JPEG XL where the browser can decode it. Out: JPG, PNG, WebP (lossy or lossless) and multi-size ICO. TIFF, PSD and camera RAW are recognised and named, not converted yet.

Nothing is uploaded. Files are decoded and re-encoded on your own device with the browser's decoders plus small WebAssembly encoders (MozJPEG, libwebp). There is no server step, so there is no queue, no daily limit, no account, no watermark and no file-size cap from us. The limit is your device: the line under "Before converting" says how many megapixels it can draw at once. Load the page, go offline, and it still works.

It says what changes before it starts. Each file's real type (not the extension), size, transparency, animation, camera data and location are read first. If the new format cannot keep something, you are told before pressing Convert, not after.

Same format, nothing changed. When the input and output format are the same and no action is set, the file is copied byte for byte and only renamed (this is how a .jfif becomes a .jpg). The receipt shows the checksum so you can see nothing was re-encoded.

Folders. Drop a folder or choose one; the folder structure is kept inside the ZIP. Identical files are converted once. On iPhone, finished images go straight to Photos through the share sheet; the ZIP is for computers.

Animation. Animated GIF, WebP, APNG and AVIF are detected. A still output keeps the first frame, and the report says so; nothing is flattened silently.
