      About webp to png converter

      What this page does differently

Why do my downloaded images come out as WebP?

Many sites serve WebP because it is smaller. Browsers save what the site sent. Converting to PNG gives you a file that older apps, Windows Photos and upload forms accept.

      Is PNG bigger than WebP?

Usually much bigger: PNG is lossless and WebP is normally lossy. If size matters and the app accepts it, JPG (for photos) or keeping WebP is smaller. PNG is the right choice for logos, screenshots and anything with transparency.

      What about animated WebP?

A PNG is a single image, so only the first frame is kept, and the report tells you before converting. For a moving result you need a GIF or video tool.

      Does converting lose quality?

No. PNG is lossless, so every pixel the WebP decoded to is kept exactly. Quality lost when the WebP was made cannot be recovered, but nothing further is lost.

      Limits and privacy

No caps of ours: no file-size limit, no daily count, no account, no watermark, no queue. The only limit is what your device can draw; the line under "Before converting" states it. Files never leave your device: this page makes no network request with your images and keeps working offline once loaded. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG in every browser; HEIC in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Outputs are JPG, PNG, WebP and multi-size ICO. Free for personal and commercial use; convert only images you own or may modify.
