About heic to jpg converter
What this page does differently
- Reads HEIC and HEIF natively in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac, including 48 MP ProRAW-derived HEIC, converting on the device with no upload.
- Keeps EXIF: date taken, camera model and location move into the JPG, so Photos and Windows still sort them by the real date.
- Whole albums: choose many photos or a folder; identical duplicates are converted once, and Live Photo video halves are skipped with a note.
Why does it only work in Safari?
Safari on Apple devices has the HEIC decoder built in. Chrome, Edge and Firefox do not decode HEIC yet, and this site does not ship its own decoder until its licensing has been checked. On a Windows PC, open the photo in the Photos app and export it as JPG, or send it from an iPhone with this page.
Will the photos lose quality?
HEIC is already compressed, so a JPG copy is a second compression. At the default quality the difference is invisible in normal viewing; raise the quality slider if you print large. PNG is available if you need a lossless copy, at a much bigger file size.
Does it keep the date and location?
Yes. The JPG carries the same EXIF camera details, date taken and GPS location as the HEIC. If you want a copy without location data, use the Image Resizer, which strips all metadata.
How do I stop my iPhone making HEIC in the first place?
Settings, Camera, Formats, then choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG. Existing photos stay HEIC; convert them here.
Limits and privacy
No caps of ours: no file-size limit, no daily count, no account, no watermark, no queue. The only limit is what your device can draw; the line under "Before converting" states it. Files never leave your device: this page makes no network request with your images and keeps working offline once loaded. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG in every browser; HEIC in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Outputs are JPG, PNG, WebP and multi-size ICO. Free for personal and commercial use; convert only images you own or may modify.
