PNG to JPG Converter
Screenshots, graphics and photos saved as PNG can be huge. JPG makes them small enough to mail, upload and post. Transparent PNGs are the classic trap: JPG cannot hold transparency, so this page warns you and lets you choose the fill colour before converting. Set a quality or a maximum size in KB. Nothing is uploaded.

Camera details, the date taken and location data are kept when the new format can hold them (JPG, PNG, WebP), exactly as the original had them. Want to see or remove it? Remove EXIF and metadata shows everything a photo carries and strips it losslessly.

About png to jpg converter
What this page does differently
- Real transparency is detected from the pixels, not just the PNG's colour type, so opaque RGBA files are not falsely flagged and truly transparent ones get the background picker.
- The report says when a PNG looks like a graphic (text, logo, screenshot), because JPG softens hard edges and WebP or a smaller PNG may serve better.
- A KB limit is met exactly by searching the quality; dimensions are only reduced if you allow it.
Why did my transparent PNG turn black elsewhere?
Some converters draw the image on an empty (black) canvas. Here the background is always a colour you choose, white by default.
Will text look worse?
Slightly, at low quality: JPG blurs sharp edges. Keep quality at 85 or higher for screenshots, or pick WebP, which handles text well and stays small.
How do I get under an upload limit?
Tick Keep each file under, type the limit in KB or MB, and the converter finds the highest quality that fits. If it cannot fit at the current pixel size, it tells you and offers to shrink the pixels.
Limits and privacy
No caps of ours: no file-size limit, no daily count, no account, no watermark, no queue. The only limit is what your device can draw; the line under "Before converting" states it. Files never leave your device: this page makes no network request with your images and keeps working offline once loaded. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG in every browser; HEIC in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Outputs are JPG, PNG, WebP and multi-size ICO. Free for personal and commercial use; convert only images you own or may modify.
