About deformed.gg

Free tools that run in your browser, built by one person in the United States and tested on the hardware on their desk. No accounts, no uploads for anything that can be done on your own device, and no claims a web page can't back up.

Who makes it

deformed.gg is run by Nathan, a solo builder. The tools are written with help from AI coding assistants, then checked by hand on real keyboards, mice, controllers, microphones and screens before they go live, and again when a visitor reports something odd. There is no company behind it and no investors. Running costs are paid out of pocket; if advertising is ever added, it will sit beside the content and never on top of a test surface.

How the tools work

Image tools (converter, resizer, metadata remover) decode and re-encode files on your device using the browser's own decoders and small WebAssembly encoders. Nothing is uploaded; they keep working offline once loaded.

QR codes are generated locally and hold your data directly. There is no short link to expire, so a printed code keeps working whether or not this site exists.

Device and screen tests show what your browser receives from a keyboard, mouse, controller, microphone or screen, and compare it with the behaviour the hardware should have. Verdicts come with the evidence (timings, counts, readings), so you can judge them yourself.

Game name checkers send only the names you type to our server, which asks the official public service (Blizzard, Steam, Twitch) whether each one exists. A name is reported as available only when the service positively confirms it; anything unclear is reported as "couldn't verify", never guessed.

What we never claim

A web page cannot see your pixels, measure your monitor's refresh rate or colour accuracy, read a serial number, check a warranty, certify a keyboard's rollover, measure true mouse polling rate or input latency, or fix a stuck pixel. Where a competitor claims one of those, we say what can actually be measured and what the number really means. Reaction times include your screen and mouse delay and we subtract nothing. Microphone results describe your room and setup, not the microphone's quality. "Likely" means likely.
