Image Resizer and Compressor
Tell it what the file has to be: a pixel size, a KB limit, or both. Choose whether to crop, keep the whole picture or add space. Everything happens in your browser; the photo never leaves your device.

How this works and why it is different
It solves the requirement, not just "compress". Enter "600 × 600" and "under 100 KB" and it finds the highest quality that fits, checks the result byte by byte and tells you exactly what you got. If the target is impossible at your dimensions it says so and offers the choices, instead of silently shrinking or handing you an oversize file.
Nothing is uploaded. Resizing and compression run in your browser. There are no ads, no analytics and no third-party scripts on this page, and it makes no network requests with your image.
Your choices stay yours. Lock or unlock proportions, crop, keep the whole picture, add space, or stretch. Enlarge a small image if you need to. The page explains the consequence and lets you decide.
Details handled for you. Photos are rotated the right way up, transparent areas are filled with a colour you pick when saving as JPG (never black), hidden location and camera data are removed, "KB" is treated safely whether a form counts 1000 or 1024 bytes, and print sizes are written into the file for JPG and PNG.
Good resampling. Resizing uses the pica library (MIT); JPG uses MozJPEG for smaller files at the same quality. Both run locally.
