Voice Recorder
Press Record and talk. The recording is written to this browser every second, so a crash or reload doesn't lose it, and there is no time limit. Save as MP3 or WAV. Nothing is uploaded.

Off by default, so you get the sound the microphone actually hears. These are your browser's own filters: useful in a noisy room, but they can dull music and singing.
About this voice recorder
- Nothing is lost. Audio is saved to this browser once a second while you record. If the tab crashes, reloads or the battery dies, open this page again and the recording is in your list, minus at most the last second or two.
- No time limit. Record for as long as this browser has space; the page shows roughly how many hours are left.
- Room noise meter. The quiet moments between words are your room; the loud ones are your voice. The page shows both and warns you when they are too close, when you are too quiet, or when the signal clips. Levels are relative to your mic's volume setting, not calibrated loudness.
- Nothing is uploaded. Recording, storage and MP3/WAV conversion all happen in your browser. Recordings stay in this browser until you delete them; clearing site data or using a private window removes them, so save anything you want to keep.
- Keys: Space starts and stops, P pauses.
Limits
- Phones: the microphone stops when the screen locks or you switch apps, so the recording pauses itself then and resumes when you come back, with a note. The page keeps the screen awake while recording; keep it open in front.
- Very long recordings: converting hours of audio to MP3 or WAV needs a lot of memory and can fail on phones. The original file always downloads.
- Original file type: .webm in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, .m4a in Safari. Use MP3 if you're sending it to someone.
Check your microphone first with the mic test.
