Discord GIF Maker
Make a GIF that Discord will accept. Drop a clip, pick the part you want, and the GIF is fitted under Discord's upload limit, with a note of anything that had to change. Nothing is uploaded.
or drop it anywhere on the page. MP4, MOV and WebM work; other formats depend on your browser.
About this converter
- Discord's limits (read on Discord's help pages, 4 October 2026): 20 MB per file for accounts without Nitro, and under 256 KB for a custom emoji. For an emoji, choose "Discord emoji, 256 KB" under Fit under: it crops to a square and makes a small GIF.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your browser reads the video and builds the GIF on your device. No account, no watermark, no length cap of ours.
- Size before you wait. The estimate updates as you change the settings, as a range. Pick a limit under "Fit under" and the width and frame rate are lowered just enough to fit, and the page tells you what it changed.
- Crop, captions, speed and reverse are all applied in one go, on the same page. Captions can show for the whole GIF or only part of it.
- Why GIFs get big: size grows with width × height × number of frames. A shorter selection or a smaller width does more than anything else.
- Smoothness: GIF timing is in hundredths of a second, so only some frame rates are exact. The choices here are the exact ones.
- Size limits were read on each platform's own help pages on 4 October 2026: Discord 20 MB for free accounts and 256 KB for emoji, X 15 MB, GitHub 10 MB, GIPHY 8 MB recommended, Slack emoji 128 KB and 50 frames.
- Formats: if your browser can play the video, this page can convert it. iPhone videos (HEVC) may not play in Firefox.
