Tap Tempo: BPM Counter

• How to use it: play the song and tap on every beat. The reading settles after about eight taps. Stop for a couple of seconds and your next tap starts a new count.
• How it's worked out: the average time between your last sixteen taps, using the time your browser recorded for each press. A tap that lands far off the rest is left out.
• How accurate is it? It measures your tapping, so it is as steady as you are. The page tells you how much your intervals vary. For most songs you'll land within one BPM.
• Half or double? Fast songs are often counted at half speed and slow ones at double. If the number looks wrong by a factor of two, that is why.
