MP4 to WAV Converter
Save the audio from an MP4 as a WAV file: 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, stereo or mono. WAV adds no further quality loss, which is what audio editors and transcription tools want. Nothing is uploaded.
or drop them anywhere on the page. Several files are converted one after another.
About this converter
- Size: WAV is uncompressed, about 10 MB per minute in stereo and 5 MB in mono. If you only need to listen, the MP3 converter gives a file about a tenth of the size.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your browser decodes the video's audio track and encodes the MP3 on your device. You can turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.
- No size cap of ours. The limit is your device's memory: an hour of stereo audio needs about 1.5 GB while converting. If a long file fails, choose Mono or use a desktop browser. Files over 2 GB can't be read by a browser tab.
- Which files work: MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, and audio files such as M4A, WAV, OGG and FLAC. MKV works in Chrome and Edge when its audio is AAC, Opus or MP3. AVI and WMV usually don't, because browsers can't decode them.
- Quality: the audio is decoded and re-encoded, so an MP3 is very slightly different from the original track. 192 kbps is transparent for most listening; pick WAV if you plan to edit the audio.
