About pixelate image
What this page does
- Mosaic blocks are anchored to each area you draw, so a face becomes whole blocks rather than slivers at the edge.
- Block size is a percentage of the image's short side, so the saved full-resolution file looks like the preview.
- Switch any area to blur or solid block without redrawing it.
- Metadata, including the hidden EXIF thumbnail of the original, is removed by default.
Can pixelation be reversed?
Sometimes, partly, especially over text or when the original is known. For redaction of anything sensitive use the solid block; it leaves nothing to reconstruct.
How big should the blocks be?
Big enough that you cannot recognise the person yourself at arm's length; around 5–8% of the short side for a face in a typical photo.
Everything else the editor can do
This page opens the editor on one job. The other tabs are still there: crop and straighten, rotate and flip, blur or pixelate, adjust light and colour, round corners and borders, then export as JPG, PNG or WebP under a size limit, checked on the saved bytes. Everything is rendered from the original pixels and nothing is uploaded; load the page, go offline, it still works. Only edit images you own or may modify.
