About photo to black and white
What this page does
- Luminance-weighted conversion (Rec. 709), so reds and greens keep their relative brightness instead of a flat average.
- Contrast and brightness sliders to give the monochrome image punch; hold to compare.
- Sepia and inverted options in the same tab.
- Saves as JPG, PNG or WebP under any size limit.
Grayscale or desaturate: what is the difference?
Both remove colour. This page uses luminance weighting, which matches how bright each colour looks to the eye; a plain average makes skies and skin look dull.
Can I keep one colour?
Not in this version; selective colour needs a colour-range tool.
Everything else the editor can do
This page opens the editor on one job. The other tabs are still there: crop and straighten, rotate and flip, blur or pixelate, adjust light and colour, round corners and borders, then export as JPG, PNG or WebP under a size limit, checked on the saved bytes. Everything is rendered from the original pixels and nothing is uploaded; load the page, go offline, it still works. Only edit images you own or may modify.
