Remove Location from Photos
The one thing most photo apps cannot do: take the location out and leave everything else alone. This removes GPS coordinates and place names from every spot they hide in (EXIF, XMP and IPTC) and keeps the date taken, camera details, creator and copyright. The picture is not re-encoded. Drop a folder, get a ZIP, or save straight back to Photos on a phone. Nothing is uploaded.

About remove location from photos
What this page does differently
- Location is removed from all three places it can live (EXIF GPS block, XMP location and GPS fields, IPTC city and country), and the output is read back to confirm zero location fields remain.
- The date taken, camera model, creator and copyright are kept intact; the image data is byte for byte the original.
- A warning appears for files whose maker notes may hold location-derived data, with a one-click switch to the fuller personal-info rule.
Does it keep the date?
Yes. Date taken, camera and every other field stay. Only location fields go.
Why do I still see a place name in some app after cleaning?
Photo apps cache places they have already read. The file itself is clean; the tool proves it by reading the output back. Re-import the file or check it in a fresh app.
My phone already removed the location?
Possibly. iPhone and Android pickers can strip GPS before the page sees the file. If the tool reports no location, the original in your camera roll may still have it. Use Files or a computer to check the real file.
Does it change the picture quality?
No. Metadata blocks are cut out of the file; the compressed image is untouched and the checksum proves it.
Limits and privacy
No caps of ours: no file-size limit, no daily count, no account, no watermark. Files never leave your device; the page makes no network request with your images and keeps working offline once loaded. Removal is lossless: metadata blocks are cut out, the picture is never re-encoded, orientation and the colour profile are kept, and the output is read back to prove what is left. Only remove creator and copyright information from images you own or may modify.
