PS5 Controller Tester
A PS5 controller test for PC and Mac. Connect your DualSense by USB-C cable or Bluetooth, open this page and press any button. Every button shows live with Cross, Circle, Square and Triangle labels, L2 and R2 show how far they travel, the rest test measures stick drift, and the touchpad click is checked too. It works as a PlayStation controller tester for DualShock 4 pads as well.
1. Test
Press any button on your controller.
Browsers keep controllers hidden until a button is pressed, for privacy. If nothing happens: try a data cable (not charge-only), close apps that grab the controller (Steam Big Picture, emulators), and click this page first.

Press every button, pull both triggers all the way, and click both sticks. For a stricter check, the guided check asks for each button by name and flags any that come out swapped.
Rest test: a 3-second countdown, then 10 seconds with the controller put down and the sticks untouched.
Keep this tab visible while measuring: browsers stop reading controllers in hidden tabs.
Idle watch (drift that comes and goes)
Checks how far each stick reaches in every direction.
A web page can only send the vibration; you confirm whether it worked. Supported in Chrome, Edge and Safari on Mac; not in Firefox or on iPhone/iPad. Trigger rumble only works in Chrome/Edge on Windows with Xbox controllers.

2. Result
Is it the controller or the computer?
Save the JSON here, test again on another computer, browser or with a cable instead of Bluetooth, then load the first file. If the same problem shows up on both, it follows the controller.

About the PS5 Controller Tester
How to use it
- Connect the DualSense with a USB-C data cable, or pair it over Bluetooth (hold Create and PS until the light bar flashes). Click this page and press Cross.
- Press every button including the touchpad click, and press L2 and R2 all the way.
- Run the rest test on the Stick drift tab with the controller put down.
- Save the summary, and compare it with a second run after cleaning or recalibrating.
What this page focuses on
- PlayStation-style symmetric layout with Cross/Circle/Square/Triangle, L1/R1, L2/R2, Create and Options labels.
- Touchpad click is tested as a button; the PS button is marked as possibly taken by your system (Steam or a launcher).
- L2/R2 travel is shown from 0 to full, so a trigger that no longer reaches the bottom or return to zero stands out.
- Names come from your browser's standard controller mapping. If something looks swapped, try Chrome or Edge to rule out the browser.
Reading your result
- PS button not received: Steam or another launcher usually takes it. That is not a fault.
- L2 or R2 short of full travel: The trigger does not reach 1 when pressed fully. Adaptive-trigger resistance cannot cause this here, because browsers do not control it.
- Stick drift: Compare the rest test result with the deadzone of the game where you notice drift. Test again after recalibrating to see whether it helped.
Can I test the gyro, touchpad position or adaptive triggers?
Not here. Browsers do not expose those through the standard controller interface, so this page does not pretend to test them.
How do I recalibrate a drifting DualSense?
Sony does not offer a PC calibration tool. The open-source DualShock Calibration GUI (dualshock-tools.github.io) can recalibrate sticks on some controllers; use it at your own risk. Check drift here before and after.
Why doesn't the PS button register?
Steam and other launchers often take it for their own menu. Close them, or test with Steam's controller support turned off for PlayStation controllers.
What a browser cannot test
Browsers only see a controller after a button press, and only what the system reports. Some software (Steam Input, DS4Windows) applies its own deadzone first, which can hide small drift. Gyro, touchpad position, light bar, adaptive triggers and battery are not available through the standard controller interface. The Home / Guide / PS button is often taken by the system. No web page can measure controller latency or polling rate.
Privacy
The test runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you press is uploaded, and nothing is saved after you close or refresh the page. Saved files are created on your device and only go where you send them.
